The Waterfall City land is owned by the Waterfall Islamic Institute (WIC), founded by the Mia family. The land is not allowed to be sold/transferred for religious reasons, however it can be leased. The profits made off of the leases must be used for public good such as charities and community initiatives.
Does waterfall fall under Midrand?
Waterfall is a recent, award winning commercial and residential development situated in the Midrand area at the Allandale Road exit of the N1 highway. It consists of Waterfall City, which is the CBD of the area, and boasts the largest single phase mall on the continent, known as the Mall of Africa.
